About Animal Molecular Genetic Lab:

Animal genetic resources are the essential force for livestock development, along with animal health, modern feeding programs, and advanced breeding programs. It is based on the characterization of animals, conservation, and support of genetic improvement processes for modern breeding programs. Animal genetic resources provide genetic information that helps strongly in supporting the sustainable development of the livestock sector to increase the production capacity to the highest level to bridge the food gap from diversified animal production, produce new breeds capable of facing and adapting to continuous climate changes, producing modern breeds and hybrids capable of resistance The spread and emerging diseases, as well as the study of obtaining animal breeds with high nutritional transformation efficiency to meet the challenges and consequences of shrinking the agricultural area resulting from human intervention or climatic changes and the lack of water resources, which made there is competition between the human element and animals in cultivating the requirements of each of them on this agricultural area Available to all, which led to a shortage of produced fodder and exacerbated problems and changing market requirements.

Therefore, the Laboratory of Molecular Genetics and Biochemistry of Animal Genetic Resources was established to contribute to the study, development, and consolidation

of animal genetics in the development, development, and preservation of livestock, based on molecular genetics and biochemistry, which aims to: Study the flow of genetic information within the biological system at the molecular level through Study of the structure and function of genes, study of expression and regulation of gene expression, study of important biological processes and pathways affecting the necessary biological functions, the study of the animal genome and its link to genetic disorders that result in mutations or genetic changes benign or benign. To properly understand the animal model to maximize the productive benefit.

Lab Vision

The Laboratory of Molecular Genetics and Biochemistry of Animal Resources is a distinguished and specialized laboratory for researching animal genetic sources, as well as for training and conducting scientific research related to animal genetics.

Lab Mission

The lab contributes to advancing scientific research and harnessing it in the service and development of society, by adapting molecular genetics and biochemistry techniques for animal sources to help provide solutions to the problems and challenges facing the agricultural animal sector, increase different production rates, raise their efficiency, preserve the genetic diversity of animal resources, and improve breeding programs animal.
